A lot of condo buyers don't get a home inspection or condo inspection in this case. This is OK if it's a new condo and under warranty but older condos should always be inspected. You'd be amazed what can go wrong and how dangerous things can be without an inspection and who wants to pay for someone else's problem.

Here's a few inspection videos. The first one is the best even if it doesn't deal specifically with condos. The second videos deal with a condo inspection only but it's not as good.

A condo inspection won't cost as much as a home inspection but make sure you get a good home inspector. Many aren't. Ask your agent for a recommendation.
